Ever thought about apping a character for
cfud and wanted to see if they'd been apped before, for general concrit or other reasons, but didn't know where to start? If you're anything like us, then you have. Except that you probably didn't decide to be a masochist and make a journal dedicated to cataloging all of the past and present apps. >>
But enough about us!
HOW TO USE THIS CRAZY THING:
In the sidebar to your right, there is a list of links! The third link, Tags by Series, is what you want to use to find apps. In the interests of abusing LJ's tag system SLIGHTLY less, we only tagged by series, not by character. Sorry, guys. Also, for you crazy characters with multiple or really long canon names, we picked one and/or used the common name.
So how do you find apps? Just click on the taglist, then click on the tag for the series. Each post contains one full round of apps, with the different batches helpfully sorted in different tables with character name, series, number of in and out votes, and final in percentage. If you'd like to view the actual vote post to read the app, remember: BLUE MEANS CLICK (except in this case).
Now let's say you want to find all the apps that have ever gone up to vote for Uzumaki Naruto! You picked "Naruto" in the taglist, but there are ten billion apps from that series and all the tables are making your eyes hurt. Just use the ctrl+f or find text function (...I'm not sure what it is on Macs, but it shouldn't be hard to figure out) and search for the character's name! ...for Naruto, you should probably use his last/full name, though, since the series is also called, y'know, Naruto. |D (Alas, you're out of luck for Harry Potter.) ALTERNATIVELY, you can head on over to
cfappitry, where app rounds have been split into series, then characters.
BUT WAIT, you say. This journal can't be all the apps ever written for CFUD! You're absolutely right; when CFUD moved over from Livejournal to Dreamwidth, we decided to use the move to start anew as well, at least for
cfudapparchive. In the LJ version,
cfudapparchive, you can find all the apps written for CFUD up to December 2011. From 2012 and onward, the apps will be on this journal! We apologize for any confusion, but considering the amount of links we would have had to change over in
cfappitry, this seemed like a much less painful solution. As a note, if LJ ever kicks the bucket,
cfudapparchive has been backed up at
cfudappstorage for those of you who like to look at tables and vote counts.
AND THAT IS HOW YOU USE THIS. Hopefully this will be useful to people other than us! Also, if you happen to spot a mistake in a table, feel free to drop a comment in that round and we'll fix it right up (everything started to blur after round 5, so we probably didn't catch all our mistakes).
PS: SPECIAL THANKS go to Suzuna-mun and her giant list of all the apps that went up before the voting community was made. ♥ ;;
